Last week I showed you our latest Melt and Pour cupcake kit here.
This week I will show you how to make melt and pour roses. You may find it is easier to buy the kit from us with the roses already made as they are not easy to make.
This week I will show you how to make melt and pour roses. You may find it is easier to buy the kit from us with the roses already made as they are not easy to make.
Gather your equipment:
A flat tray and /or silicone tray
A rose petal cutter
A leaf cutter
Soap colours-green, lilac, brown
Fragrance oil
500g White/ opaque Glycerine soap
Microwave jug
Cupcake liners and muffin tray
Spraying alcohol
Make the roses and leaves
1. Cut your soap into small chunks and place into your microwave jug
2. Melt on LOW for 30 second blasts until all the soap is melted
3. Pour some melt soap into a small container, add a small amount of green colour and pour into the tray. Let this go hard (+/-3 minutes) remove from the tray and cut out your leaves
4. Melt the white soap again and pour about 150g into the tray and let this go hard. This is to make the roses.
5. Take the rose petal cutter and cut out your roses, you should have a long strip of “petals”
6. Roll the petals tightly to make a rose. The trick is to make the rose quite long +/-3cm high so that it sits easily in the soap. Bend the petals back to form a rose.
7. Take your leaves that you made earlier and cut a horizontal line in the rose and insert your leaf (below right)
Next week we will make the cupcake and insert the rose.
